Their Wedding Story
Last Friday was an absolutely amazing day for Rachel & Mark’s wedding. Set in the heart of the Lake District and in the village where they’ve recently built a house, everything came together just perfectly!
From digging trenches, taking buckets of rainwater away by wheelbarrow, buying astroturf and many more things in the days leading up to their marquee wedding that was getting more and more flooded, (and we won’t even mention Mark’s leaf blower idea to dry the grass!) these two certainly put in the work and came up with some crafty ideas to help make sure their wedding location wasn’t a wash-out! However none of that mattered on the actual day because the sun shone and they really did have the day they had been hoping for.
When you first see the girl that changed your life, you wouldn’t imagine it would be seeing her dancing on tables but in Mark’s case that was exactly it! He didn’t go up to her then and there though, he did the classic 21st century boy thing of Facebook stalking her and then proceeding to double message her! Well either way it did the trick and he eventually got Rachel out on a first date, walking 6 hours up a fell followed by a pub dinner, where he saw a friend who had told him he ‘didn’t have a chance with Rachel’. It’s clear to see that he certainly proved his friend wrong!
I don’t think I once saw the smiles drop from Rachel & Mark’s faces all day, from some very funny speeches to a glorious golden hour sunset and even finishing off with some surprise fireworks! Not even an accident on the road where their band was coming from could dampen their spirits… and yes, luckily they did finally arrive only 30 minutes late, ready to truly kick the party off!
Mark & Rachel are two of the kindest people you could meet and it’s so easy to see why they work so perfectly together. I’m thrilled I could capture their big day for them, so here for their pretty LARGE wedding preview (well over 200 photographs worth!!) I’d love to wish the new Mr & Mrs the happiest of lives together!
