Their Wedding Story

After looking and failing to find a wedding venue around Preston, Rachael had come across Hidden River Barn online and told Nic before they went to see it ‘you probably won’t like it’ but as they walked in they knew instantly this was going to be their special place, and yesterday it was that and so much more!

Not many couples would be as relaxed as Rachael & Nic waking up to continuous rain on their wedding day but these two are certainly no ordinary couple – especially since on their pre wedding shoot we had a fair bit of rain too! The rain certainly didn’t dampen their spirits though with Rachael so incredibly calm during the wedding morning, and Nic might have been getting more and more nervous, but that was only because of all the emotions slowly hitting him and his reaction!!!! His reaction to Rachael walking down the aisle was so sweet!! (Definitely keep an eye out for that photo!!)

It's been a long time coming for Rachael & Nic, after meeting while playing badminton to spending 5 years of their relationship the other side of the world to each other (Nic in the USA and Rachael in England) followed by a near instant lockdown as soon as Nic moved back home. They might have just started their married life together yesterday, but they’ve certainly already tested the strength of their relationship (spoiler alert – they’re one of the strongest and happiest couples I’ve came across!!!) The little looks between these two throughout the ceremony, speeches and couple photographs are honestly every photographers dream! 

Trying to dodge the heavy downpours throughout the day, I’m thrilled we managed to get the confetti shot they both wanted and even got a few minutes outside without the need of an umbrella for their couple photographs. Umbrella or no umbrella Rachael & Nic embraced every moment of yesterday and had the best day of their lives! 

The whole day was filled with so much laughter and the biggest of grins on both Rachael & Nic’s faces, it’s so obvious to see that these two are made for each other and I’m so pleased I got to capture all their happy memories for them both.

I’ll leave the photographs to tell the rest of their story but I’d love to wish Rachael & Nic the biggest of congratulations!!!
