The 7th May 2022 was a whirlwind Saturday filled with Sally & Jason’s spectacular wedding at their local church, followed by a reception at Hidden River Barn. There wasn’t one moment of the day that wasn’t thought out and styled to utter perfection… this wedding is certainly one you’ll WANT to take inspiration from!!
I started the morning at Sally’s parents’ house in the heart of Appleby with the girls just starting to pour the bubbly and hair and makeup well underway! Just before the girls started to get dressed Sally had some super sweet gifts for her bridesmaids, but little did she know her bridesmaids had put together a gift box for her too! As they started to open them all they soon realised that Sally had bought her bridesmaids EXACTLY the same bracelet as her bridesmaids had bought for her with only one difference, Sally’s had a blue stone instead of a clear one!! I don’t know about you, but I think these girls have some great taste!!
I had a wonderful second shooter (Jessica Reeve Photography) who captured some beautiful photographs of the boys getting ready (by all accounts Jason was quite nervous!!) and followed them to the pub for a pre ceremony celebration. By the time I arrived it seemed like the entire population of Appleby was outside the church getting more and more excited to get a peak of Sally. Before we knew it Sally was walking down the aisle meeting a very nervous Jason at the end… however the nerves soon disappeared with a hilarious mix up of names from the Vicar, with Jason being dubbed Robyn. I honestly think little slip ups make for the best photographs of everyone laughing and instantly relaxes everyone involved!
Celebrations soon began at the amazing Hidden River Barn, which was styled sensationally by some of the most amazing suppliers you will come across (definitely take note of their tags below!!) Everyone involved, even the venue team, were in awe of how amazing the table décor, signage, florals, and entire styling looked. The beauty of Sally & Jason’s wedding will always be one I’ll remember for years to come!
The day flew by in a blink of an eye, and before we knew it Sally and Jason were wowing us with their first dance that they went to dance lessons to learn!! Honestly it made a beautiful change to the little shuffle first dances usually are. However, that wasn’t the only surprise of the evening… Sally had arranged a special surprise for Jason and all their guests, an amazing Saxophone player came bouncing in after the band’s first set with everyone gathering on the dancefloor and soon turning the night into an Ibiza-style party!
It was an absolute pleasure getting to capture Sally & Jason’s wedding. These two are honestly two of the most kindest and caring people you’ll meet, with Sally worrying if everyone was enjoying themselves more than herself! I can’t believe the day was over so quickly, but I’m thrilled to share some of their photographs with you all today.
Here’s to the wonderful Mr & Mrs Ballantyne!!
