Can I stay friends with Rachel & Mike??!!
Ever since meeting them and having the BIGGEST gossip together on their pre wedding shoot I have been head over heels in love with these two - back in October 2019 I captured their wonderfully relaxed farm/barn wedding at Three Hills Barn.
We started the morning of the wedding at Rachel’s parents farm with the England rugby match on, a few bubbles flowing and plenty of their dogs joining in - I was definitely in my element with the animals! Time flew by and before we knew it we were already at Caldbeck Church, Rachel’s wedding transport was a tractor which parked up outside, plus lots of the Caldbeck church congregation were invited to the ceremony which I thought was so lovely! After a beautifully personal ceremony, the rain died down a touch for all their guests to congratulate them both outside and the chance for a little confetti shot down the walkway of the church.
We nipped off before the heavens opened again to go across the countryside near Caldbeck for some couple photographs surrounded by even more stunning views. With Rachel’s family farm in the misty distance, it made it even more special for these two especially since their pre wedding shoot was based on the farm.
Before we knew it we joined the rest of the wedding at Three Hills Barn just in time before the rain hit hard. I absolutely love how much of a trooper Rachel was throughout the whole day. Due to the rain and countryside setting, her dress got a touch muddy (maybe a slight understatement - sorry Julia Tasker Bridal!!) and even a drop of mulled wine got spilt down it! However nothing fazed Rachel, with a wonderful attitude, she just wanted to enjoy her dress and have fun in it instead of trying to keep it pristine which obviously I loved!
The rest of the wedding flew by in the blink of an eye with some wonderfully funny speeches filled with jokes, and even an extremely special performance from Mike’s band in the evening! Their set ended on the beautiful song “You Make My Dreams” dedicated to Mike’s new wife Rachel, and I certainly didn’t miss the tears come to her eyes while they were performing it!
The rain certainly didn't out a dampener on anyone's spirits throughout the whole day, and I absolutely loved both Rachel & Mike’s beautifully positive attitudes. I wish these two all the love in the world, they are some of the kindest people I’ve ever met and they truly deserve all the happiness!
Here’s to the wonderful Mr & Mrs Davenport!
