RACHEL & JOHN’S BEAUTIFULLY BOLD & ROMANTIC WEDDING AT NEWTON HALL | NORTHUMBERLAND

I was so excited for Rachel & John’s big day to come around for SO LONG, not only are they such a nice couple, but they chose a STUNNING venue in Newton Hall and Rachel’s organisational/décor skills meant instantly it was going to be amazing, and I certainly wasn’t wrong!!

But first tell me, do you believe in fate? John didn’t for a long time… until he met Rachel!

He’d just started a new job, in-fact the job Rachel was just leaving, and he even admitted in his speech when he first saw her he thought she was the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen. It didn’t happen instantly though for these two, it took many work nights out where Rachel still joined/saw everyone, and a little push from Rachel’s mum to add John online for them to get chatting more. It took Rachel so long to add John that John even said he actually kept her waiting for a reply even though he really liked her already!

Just think… if he’d never applied for that job!

Their relationship has certainly gone from strength to strength, and of all people to thank for John proposing to Rachel when he did, she actually has BORIS to thank! John had originally planned to propose in New York, but with all the restrictions last year with travelling he decided to take her to York instead. He wasn’t actually planning to propose then, but it had just been announced that the following week we were going back into lockdown, so even though the ring hadn’t even arrived yet, he decided to propose with one of Rachel’s rings she already had over Halloween weekend last year while trying to dodge the ghost tours around York!!

That wasn’t all of the surprises for that weekend though… Rachel had been following me for a while before John’s proposal and had watched my stories when I shot at Newton Hall for Belle Bridal Magazine a few years ago (my first ever shoot for the magazine!). She instantly fell in love with the venue and with John knowing this he’d planned for them both to visit and view Newton Hall in person before coming home from York. As you can see, they both were besotted with the venue, and a year later, on the 1st November 2021, they had their dream day there!

I could honestly talk SO MUCH about how much I loved capturing their day for them and how lovely Rachel & John are. Rachel who is so bubbly, kind and caring with amazing skills in pulling a beautiful wedding together in just 12 months and John with a pretty wicked sense of humour (his speech had me laughing lots!) and some great dance moves that set the bar for all grooms in the future!

I left these two while the dance floor was full of guests having so much fun (to Rachel’s relief – she was so nervous about the dancefloor being dead, however with her guests she had nothing to be scared of!).

Rachel and John certainly won’t have had the wedding blues though, as post wedding they had so much to look forward to with their first Christmas as a married couple, moving into their new house in the New Year and their BIG honeymoon too. They’ve certainly started off their married life with a bang and I’m sure they’ll make so many amazing memories together over the coming years!

So finally, I’ll leave you all to relive the day via the preview photographs, but first I’d love to wish Mr & Mrs Addison the biggest congratulations on such a stunning wedding and marriage together!
