This time last year we hit the third lockdown in less than 12 months. The wedding industry was on it's knees and the creatives in it?! Well we'd lost everything we were passionate about.
However, when you have some amazing friends in the industry that are at THE TOP of their game, there was only one thing we could do to bring the inspiration of our industry back... and that was in the form of a stylised shoot! If you've followed me for a while you'll know I get along well with the team at Doxford Barns, and when they'd approached me to discuss as Spring-inspired shoot at the venue with potentially including a LAMB from their farm, I just couldn't say no!
We pulled this together in a matter of weeks and MY GOD, this was one piece of styling that I am so proud of! I'd set up mood boards with the help of Jessica Lilley - Director at The Doxford Group - and our industry friends intensified the vision by going above and beyond!
Featured on the Belle Bridal Magazine blog AND in the magazine, I think they sum it up perfectly "What happens when you cross a stellar cast of wedding creatives against the imaginative backdrop of Doxford Barns in Northumberland? Whimsical beauty, straight-talking bridal fashion and a shoot that’s going to put a spring in your step. As is routine with a venue like Doxford, the rustic romantically sound setting was the ideal backdrop for this editorial. Exposed brickwork, hushed hues and a hefty helping of countryside character brought the images to life and encapsulated the laid lack luxe brief."
We brought the high fashion straight from the catwalk with fabulously feminine outfits from Victoria Robson Bridal. When would you ever see haute couture bridal fashion within a few steps of a herd of sheep? Doxford Barns, that’s where! All outfits were from the jaw-dropping brand Pronovias - honestly one of my favourites, and I was so excited to be working with both Victoria and the brand!
Into the courtyard and the styling is something to behold. The Whole Sch-bang did what they do best – with pretty pastel shaded blooms hugging and wrapping around an overhead tables cape with style, while wicker baskets and ornate table settings completed this summer al fresco setup with aplomb. The cake? A glorious three-tiered centrepiece from north east baking extraordinaire Gabriella Grace Cakes bringing all the sweet, sweet style.
I also just HAVE to point out the beautifully understated, yet unbelievably eye-catching bouquet from The Whole Sch-bang too. Honestly if I were getting married THIS would be my vibe!
I could talk about each and every supplier one by one, because trust me, they are all amazing, but I'll end on thanking our simply stunning model Sarai. I was lucky enough to choose our model and even more lucky that Sarai was available to jump on a train from London up to Northumberland for the day. She's without a shadow of a doubt something special and I've noticed she's been doing some amazing things this year that she 100% deserves. She's a beautiful person inside and out!
I adore the little details in this shoot that we all collaborated on styling. Dreamy earrings, a statement lip and a bridal blouse I'd like on my own back, immediately.
