Spending a Sunday afternoon on Bamburgh beach is an ideal Spring afternoon on any normal day, but add in Ashleigh and Jonny’s pre wedding shoot into the mix and just WOW!
Ashleigh and Jonny only just booked me at the start of the year for their wedding in July after their original photographer had to drop out of their wedding day due to unforeseen circumstances (definitely not her fault!) but when they were searching for a new photographer with only 7 months to go, I’m thrilled that I was available to capture their big day!
After briefly dating before Ashleigh went off to university, they soon parted ways before getting back together a few years later – it truly shows timing is everything in both life and relationships ! But luckily their paths crossed again and this time it was for keeps!
Three years later and with a hungover Jonny, they both ventured out to Bamburgh Castle for the day, with Ashleigh saying in her words ‘he was acting very weird now I look back… but I just thought it was the hangover!’ Little did she know Jonny was looking for the perfect spot with the perfect view to drop down on one knee . For a few moments Ashleigh even questioned if it was some kind of dark joke instead of realising what it actually was, a proposal!
They quickly darted off to head home to tell family and friends and didn’t even get to walk along Bamburgh beach because they were too excited to tell everyone. For the Pre wedding shoot we got to remedy that and even got Jonny in the sea (which he isn’t the biggest fan of!).
It was an absolute pleasure getting to know Ashleigh and Jonny over this late Spring afternoon and I was thrilled to be photographing their big day as well, which took place 2 months later at their local church, on the 31st July 2021 (it was BEAUTIFUL).
As we met, these two gifted me a bottle of bubbles as a thank you for being available and being able to photograph their wedding , and there was definitely PLENTY of prosecco for their wedding guests on the big day too – both days spent with Ashleigh & Jonny were absolutely wonderful!
Keep your eyes peeled for their big day day photos which will be on the blog soon! But for now, enjoy their pre wedding photographs at the beautiful Bamburgh beach, Northumberland.
