Kyle & Lucy were my very first New Years Eve wedding! And what a way to start my working New Years Eve's off! Before the big day I expected it to be a tough day in terms of light at Dalston Hall, I thought - "no doubt it'll be raining so I need a game plan for that. The sun set's SUPER early in Winter, and I have around an hour to photograph everything post ceremony with natural light... again a little tight. I'll need to use flash for more than 50% of the day and I promote myself as a natural light photographer..." These were the thoughts swirling in my head! I was continuously thinking of options and scenarios on how to battle whatever came our way in the days leading up to their wedding.
THEN, to all of our surprise, we were so incredibly lucky to have the most beautiful Golden Hour, (the hour before the sun sets), and this totally MADE their couple photographs the most dreamy wedding I've ever shot! I definitely did not need any of my plans for the 'worse case scenario' events. Kyle and Lucy were just a dream to photograph, they might have been a little nervous to start with but my gosh! - they are naturals in front of the camera! I think you'll all agree they're a beautiful couple. And their wedding!!! It was so beautiful and elegant, flowing with a very natural colour pallet that looked stunning with the venue - as well as the venues Christmas decorations.
Everything about Kyle & Lucy's wedding day was just so utterly amazing. The girls in the morning were so chilled out and relaxed, they were ready HOURS before they needed to be, which meant they got to enjoy a few more glasses of bubbly as well as lining their stomachs with some lunch. Being ready super early meant that we had loads of time pre ceremony to get some wonderful photographs. I took Lucy off into her mother's room for her mum to help her into her dress and did a first look with her bridesmaids - their reactions are literally THE BEST! Then we did a first look with Lucy's dad - and just wow! His reaction was one I'm sure Lucy will treasure, and I'm so pleased I got to capture that moment for her.
These two definitely know how to celebrate, with the party getting into full swing early on in the day. I think their wedding party definitely win the 'most inventive dance moves' award from me!
...Anyway, that's enough from me. Let's check out the photographs!
