This is for all of the brides who have a sweet spot in their heart for their dad. I have to admit that Daddy/Daughter first looks make me a little teary sometimes. For a lot of dads, this is when everything feels real and it hits him… “My baby girl is getting MARRIED!” These are precious moments to photograph and I highly, (if you have the time), encourage you to consider one.
It doesn’t take long at all.
The hardest part is making sure dad shows up on time! If dad doesn’t show up on time, the whole timeline can get thrown off or we’ll have to skip the daddy/daughter first look - which I HATE to have to do!
So... what goes into creating this really amazing moment?!
Firstly, if you'd like the hard hitting first look moment, I really do recommend your dad doesn't see you while you're getting ready the morning of the wedding, keep him out of the hair and makeup room and away from the dress. This will make the moment of seeing you all completely finished that bit sweeter!
Then we move onto the actual moment. I suggest either the dad, or the bride is set stationed in one room waiting, and the other is the one doing walking in. I also ALWAYS recommend that we clear the room of people, by this point your bridesmaids have already seen you and had their moment, so time to get them out of the room for just a couple of minutes. This firstly helps me shooting, so no-one gets in the way, and it always can make the moment that bit more special, a moment shared with just you and your dad.
So... have I convinced you yet?!
These little moments can really make your day feel that bit more magical.
