When you choose a wedding date in November set in the heart of the Lake District, it’s safe to say you’re taking a gamble on the weather! But for Lucy and David, there was no gamble, because good weather or not they’d picked the most stunning venue in Silverholme Estate overlooking the shores of Windermere.

 

With the boys getting ready down at the cottage on the water and the girls up in the main house overlooking the scenic views, we started the morning certainly as we meant to go on… in the most relaxed way! The entire day was everything Lucy & David had hoped for and more, planning a wedding for 50 of their closest friends and family and with their two children (Beatrice and Wilfred) they just wanted a lovely, relaxed weekend with everyone.

 

As the rain stopped (and the wind blew!) we made our way through their lovely little church service in St Paul’s Church, a church in the middle of nowhere but, with a running theme here, the best views! As David and Lucy left the church, they managed the confetti shot they’d hoped for even if the wind was playing a game with Lucy’s veil! And did I mention that photo with all their flower girls and page boys?!? Never in my 8 years have I seen six children smiling and looking (near enough!) at the camera! 

 

Meeting on a night out, Lucy & David have already spent a lot of their lives together, but it is so easy to see why these two work perfectly - they’re both so kind and down to earth. I’m thrilled they were more than willing to head outside for some couple photographs, even if Lucy’s dress was double the weight by the end of it because the bottom was so wet! 

 

From the intimate meal in the coach house over candlelight, to the evening celebrations in a little tipi to the side, these two really did have not just the day of their dreams but the weekend of them! 

 

I’d love to wish Lucy, David (and Beatrice & Wilfred) the happiest of lives as a family together. I’m sure they’ve got plenty of adventures to come!
