Their Wedding Story

Laura and Kit's wedding day was an absolute blast yesterday as they celebrated at the breath-taking Shortflatt Tower, a picturesque country manor house nestled in the heart of Northumberland. Having shot two weddings for Laura's bridesmaids in the past, I was thrilled to be able to capture their special day too.

As luck would have it, their wedding day was met with non-stop showers. But hey, rain on a wedding day is supposed to be good luck, right? And, to be fair was fairly fitting since the day Kit wanted to propose to Laura, on a trip away to Bowness on Windermere, the rain stopped his plans for a lovely walk, instead having to get down on one knee in the hotel, which Laura certainly wasn’t expecting! Fortunately for their wedding day though, the rain gods cut us some slack after the ceremony, and we got to enjoy the reception on the lush lawns overlooking the country house, exactly how Laura & Kit had imagined it.

The speeches were a mix of heartfelt and hilarious, especially when the best men shared a crazy story about the police getting involved in a restaurant misunderstanding where a nearby table thought Kit and Laura’s brother Dean were trafficking underage girls (Laura and Dean’s girlfriend/now wife Hannah). You couldn't make this stuff up! The guests couldn't stop laughing, and it added an unforgettable touch to the day.

Laura and Kit's connection is undeniable, and it's evident that they are a perfect match. They've got an incredible honeymoon planned, starting this Sunday. Here's to the new Mr. & Mrs. Sorensen - wishing them a whole load of happiness in their lives together!
