Yesterday I spent a such a wonderful day with Janet & Ant for their winters wedding at Hidden River Barn.

 

Meeting back in 2016 in a little bar in the heart of the Lake District (Janet being in the Lakes on a family trip) it was very obvious to Ant how much these two had in common and years later Ant decided with Covid restrictions still playing very much a part in travel life, proposing in the Lake District would round their journey off perfectly! In Janet’s words, she was unbelievably shocked and did the classic hand over mouth moment as Ant got down on one knee while they were out on a walk.

 

Even though they have an awful lot in common, Ant shared with us all that actually they are very much opposites in many other ways – one example was Janet’s need for a very very clean and tidy house. But as Ant explains, between them they make each other so much better! 

 

It was so lovely to see yesterday how much their families played such a big part in Janet and Ant’s lives, firstly without that family trip to the Lakes Janet may never of met Ant, and secondly when Ant was supposed to be meeting Janet’s family for the first time he had a very last minute invite from Janet and he’d been out all day and wasn’t wearing clothes fit for the first parent meeting… but he certainly had no fear, after phoning his mum she came to the rescue dropping off a change of clothes so he could make the RIGHT first impression!

 

Yesterday Ant & Janet had the day of their dreams with a beautifully sunning winters day, and the most lovely, relaxed wedding you could imagine (apart from when the registrar mixed up my name with Janet’s to the hilarity of everyone watching!)

 

These two deserve the world and more and are two of the nicest people you’ll come across. For now though, I’ll let their preview tell the rest of their story. Here’s to the new Mr & Mrs Sherran!
