Their Wedding Story
Yesterday I spent such an amazing day with the wonderful Catherine & George for their wedding at Caldbeck Church followed by their reception at Blaithwaite House.
Not many people can pull together a wedding in just 10 months, but when George proposed to Catherine she didn’t want to wait around! She managed to organise the day of her dreams with a few wonderfully personal touches to the day.
Starting the morning at Catherine’s parents house the morning flew by in a blink of an eye and with plenty of rain forecast, we managed to dodge the showers as her grandad drove her to the church (he’s done this in this very same car for all his grandchildren!) After taking a short moment to pray with the girls before heading inside the church the tears started to flow, however for someone shedding a tear or two I’ve never seen someone also look so unbelievably happy!
Before we knew it the ceremony was over, and we were all piling outside for some confetti shots and many MANY congratulations! However, at that point we didn’t go straight to Blaithwaite House, but instead we all headed back inside the church to cut the cake and have a pre reception cake, tea and coffee reception with everyone which turned out to be such a lovely plan for Catherine & George since they were able to talk to so many guests before even leaving the church!
Again, luck was on our side and the weather JUST held out for some beautiful and fun couple photographs at Blaithwaite House when we all arrived. Five speeches under our belt (one which was written by George’s mum who was unable to make it but had everyone laughing so much) it was time for the evening fun – the ceilidh! I don’t think there was enough room in the barn with the number of friends and family who were joining in, but either way it just made it even more fun and funny to watch!
Catherine & George’s day was the perfect mix of relaxed yet fun and so beautifully personal! Getting to know these two though I wouldn’t have expected anything less!
Catherine & George met on a ship a few years ago, however in the 2 years they were aboard they talked approximately 10 times! With fate intervening again, George moved to Carlisle for work and ended up getting in touch with Catherine since he didn’t know many people in the area. After a while of being just friends they decided to admit that they liked each other (however the night that George admitted it Catherine was saying to her friend that she didn’t think George liked her like that!!) When they did decide to go on their first official date George very quickly realised she wasn’t the normal first date kind of girl, ordering a hot dog with ALL the sauces! He says that it was at that moment he knew he was onto something very special!
I’d love to wish these two the most amazing life together, I’m sure they’ve got plenty of adventures and happiness to come and I’m thrilled to be able to share with you all a little preview from their big day!
The biggest of congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Greenwood!
