Their Wedding Story

On Saturday I spent the most glorious day with Abbie, Joe and their closest family & friends.

With the sun beating down on us in the secluded location of Gilpin Lake House, we honestly could have been anywhere in the world! The whole day was a super relaxed affair, starting the morning with Joe’s dad sunbathing out on the lawn (and had by all accounts gone swimming in the tarn!) and Joe wondering around the grounds making sure both the guests and suppliers were ok. Abbie however was living the life of luxury watching it all from her floor to ceiling windows while getting her hair and makeup done and having the most relaxed start to her big day.

From the moment of Abbie’s dad’s first look it was clear tears were on the cards (happy ones obviously!) starting with their first look, both Abbie and her dad broke down in tears, to Joe shedding a few tears while waiting and then seeing Abbie walk through the woodlands to their ceremony location which was dripping with stunning florals. That wasn’t it though – speeches also provided more with Abbie’s dad’s speech!

With the tears at bay their reception was filled with wonderful never ending drinks on the lawn. Abbie unfortunately isn’t the only love of Joe’s life, his best man has more than a special place and with this in mind both Joe and his best man decided to go for a romantic boat ride across the tarn together!!! Definitely look out for those photos in the preview!

After 7 years together and with the start of their relationship a little rocky (due to Joe continuously using emojis to text instead of actual words!!!) it’s so easy to see how beautifully perfect these two are together. They’re honestly the NICEST couple you could meet, and they certainly know how to celebrate with THREE honeymoons planned starting with their first today.

I’d love to wish Abbie & Joe the happiest of lives together, I’m sure they’re going to create many more memories travelling the world and enjoying so much time together. Here’s to the new Mr & Mrs!
